The swimming competitive pathway offers opportunities for swimmers to develop their skill in a competitive environment against others of a similar level and/or ability. This information is designed to help swimmers and parents understand this competitive pathway. All meets for the Coast & Valley area and Swimming NSW can be found by clicking the images.
Time Trials
Generally held at club level and are an opportunity to achieve official times in the club environment.
Picnic Carnivals
Aimed at younger swimmers to give an opportunity to experience racing and develop skills in a fun environment. Times achieved are not official at these meets.
Development Meets
Development meets have no qualifying times, but have ‘break times’ which means the swimmer must swim slower than that time to be eligible to enter.
Qualifying Meets
Qualifying meets have ‘qualifying times’ which is the minimum official time a swimmer must have achieved to be eligible to enter.
CVSA, NSW Country and NSW State Championships
These championship events are each held twice yearly and each have ‘qualifying times’ to enter. These events generally attract high level competitive swimmers.
Results
There are a number of ways to get results.
Results Central is available to search for the results for individual swimmers, meets as well as other criteria.
Swim Central is an excellent way to track swimmers results over time as well as individual meets. For swimmers aged 13 and over, there is also a ranking function to compare themselves to other age swimmers across Australia.
Meet Mobile is a IOS/Android application used at some meets for live results and to review results post meet. (Meet Mobile is available through yearly subscription on the app).
