CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION
Club Championships are age based events which will be held on the last two weeks of the swim club season. Races are planned to commence at 7.00pm.
Selected long distance events will be held in place of open events in the preceding weeks. Swimmers age for the Club Championships is their age as of the first Club Championships night.
Entries are via an online process on Swim Central unless stated otherwise.
Entries will close at midnight of the Saturday prior to the first night of Club Champs.
Eligibility is as follows:
- Must be a registered and financial first claim swimmer of Charlestown Swimming Club.
- Must be fully financial and owe no money to the club.
- Parents must have provided help on at least 5 occasions throughout the season for their child/children to be eligible to compete at club championships.
- (Under review for 24/24 season)
On the nights of club championships we require 2 timekeepers per lane so we would kindly ask that parents offer their assistance with this.
CALCULATION OF AWARDS
Club Championships events are finalised in age categories and determine the recipients of club champion trophies.
Age trophies are given to each year age group for boys and girls and are calculated from the 4 stroke events.
For 8 years and under this is the 25m events.
For 9 to 12 years this is the 50m events.
For 13yrs and over it is the 50m and 100m events.
The 8 years and under perpetual trophy is calculated from the 50m open events.
The 12 years and under perpetual trophy is calculated from the five 12/under events which are 200IM, 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly.
The open perpetual trophy is calculated from the Open 200m events that are held on club nights towards the end of the season and the Open 200m event on the nights of Club Championships.
The Open 200m events are open to all swimmers in A & B grades due to qualifying times. The 400m Freestyle event is open to swimmers 12yrs and over.
